Equestrian Wanderlust - 5 bucket list horse riding destinations that will leave you speechless!
Did you ever wish you could just pack your bags and fly away....
Most likely more often then not in this current situation.
But it doesn't hurt to dream does it?
And who can honestly say they haven't dreamt that they were far far away on a deserted island this past year?!
Come on you know you've thought about it!
You must have a few destinations already on your bucket list?
Are you someone who loves to sit by the pool, or are you someone that needs a bit of an adventure?!
If you are the latter, even remotely, this post is for you!!
And before we get into this, I just want to say, I'm not trying to torture anyone here!
I knowwww we are all stuck inside pulling our hair out.
But what good is that doing us?
What I'm saying is, instead of being down about what cant be right now, why not just day dream about what could be in the future?
I have a confession...
I have been spending A LOT of time on Pinterest recently.... I mean a lot! (check out my Pinterest Equestrian Wanderlust board here.)
Some of the most incredible places on earth can be visited on horseback.
Whether your a thrill seeker, or someone wanting to take the slower, more serene path, there is a horseback riding holiday out there that's got your name written all over it!
Here are some of the destinations that I have added to my Equestrian Wanderlust bucket list so far..
And I fully intend on ticking them off at some stage!
1) Sumba, Indonesia
Sun, sea, sand, and a trusted steed, what more could you possibly want in life?
Sumba is a remote Island, about an hours flight from Bali, and I'm sorry, but if this isn't paradise, I don't know what is??
Every morning the horses gallop free along the beach and go for a swim, guests are encouraged to join them...
After that you can go for a ride around the island, visit the waterfalls, go surfing or scuba diving...
OH AND THERES A SPA!!!
2) The Maasai Mara, Africa
Going on safari to the Maasai Mara has been a dream of mine since, basically forever.
To get a chance to see 'the big 5' in their natural habitat, or capturing the great migration on horseback, would be out of this world!
After a days safari you head back to your luxury safari tent, have a bush bath, or go up in a hot air balloon for a 360° view of the incredible landscape of Kenya.
Can you even imagine it?!
The website I found was for Ride Maasai Mara, well worth a nosy!
3) Petra, Jordan
A must see destination for a bit of culture! And an obvious addition to the bucket list!
Imagine galloping across the pink sand, sleeping under the stars, visiting the ancient city of Petra and having a float around in the dead sea!!
This would be such a cool trip!
I found this one on Equus Journeys. This site is definitely worth taking a look at of you are hoping to plan a horse-back adventure some day, they do a whole host of excursions all over the world.
4) Trekking across the Andes
The ultimate off road equestrian adventure.
You can trek from Chile, wade through rivers, up mountain passes with incredible views, and on into Argentina.
What better way to see some of the worlds most iconic mountain ranges than on the back of a horse?!
On this particular tour you can choose to go for 6 or 8 days.
I found this trip on Equi Tours.
5) Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah
If your a horsey person and you try telling me there's not a bit of you that wants to play at being a real life cowgirl, I'm calling you out on your bulls**t!
I'm sorry but your either lying or your not a real horsey person!
GET ME TO A RANCH NOW!!!
Imagine the insane views on a trip like this!
I found this trip on Bryce Canyon Country.
I hope you enjoyed...
I guess by this point your either full of inspo or completely seething at me!!
If its the latter.. sorry not sorry.
And I hate to say it but I found so many more incredible places to visit, so I can't even promise there wont be an Equestrian Wanderlust 2.0 another time, and who knows, maybe I can one day bring you some of these trips in real life....
I can dream!
Look, I'm aware this post is a bit pointless ATM...
But if nothing else, it was a bit of fun and had some really pretty pictures in it?! Don't forget to Pin these images to your own Equestrian Wanderlust board if you liked them!
Which was your favourite destination? Do you have any different places on your bucket list?!
Lemme know in the comments section!
